| ABOUT
James Allen is a 26 year old Australian professional racing driver from Perth, Western Australia. Fascinated by prototype race cars and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, he began his racing career in karting in 2009, he won the Australian karting championship in 2012 in the Junior National Heavy class before making the big move over to Europe at the young ago of 16 to compete in the Formula BMW Talent Cup, a manufacturer supported development series where he would finish the championship in 5th place.
James moved on to compete for three years in Formula Renault 2.0, competing in all three major championships including Eurocup, Alps and NEC championships. Although James enjoyed his time in Formula Renault his goal was to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans which meant making the jump over to endurance racing in the European Le Mans Series in 2017 in the LMP2 class with Graff Racing, finishing third overall in the championship in his very first year. This also saw James compete in his first 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he would finish 5th in class and 6th overall.
The following year he would compete in 2 races in the World Endurance championship in the LMP1 class at the 6 hours of Fuji and 6 Hours of Shanghai, as well as ELMS and Le Mans in LMP2. 2019 would be his first attempt at the Rolex 24 at Daytona where he would qualify pole position in LMP2 as well as setting the lap record for the class. 2021 would see him finish 3rd in the LMP2 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans before winning the race in the LMP2 Pro-Am class the following year. He is currently leading the World Endurance Championship in LMP2 Pro-Am.

| EUROPEAN LE MANS SERIES
The duty of the ELMS is to offer its competitors a full season to race their cars on some of the best tracks in Europe, while keeping tight control of the costs associated with running in a top European wide series. The European Le Mans Series is a natural training ground for drivers wanting to tackle the FIA World Endurance Championship. Drivers competing in LMP2 and LMGTE are racing the same machinery that competes on the world stage and perhaps the next world champion will be found on the grid of the ELMS. The "Le Mans Prototype 2" (LMP2) class is reserved exclusively for privateer teams independent of constructors and/or engine suppliers.
